HIV/AIDS Services

HIV/AIDS Services provides free, anonymous, and confidential HIV antibody testing and Syphilis testing by appointment, but walk-ins are welcome if appointments are available. Please see clinic hours. Rapid HIV testing is free at outreach events.

Free condoms are available in the HIV/STI Clinic sitting area on the second floor of the Health District. Take a right at the top of the stairs or off the elevator, and the sitting area is down the hall and the last door on the right.

HIV Case Management

HIV Case Management can provide prevention and education programs and have a staff of experienced case managers to help with direct client services, including an early intervention clinic, dental assistance, transportation assistance, nutritional assistance, emergency rental and utility payments for those eligible (HOPWA), and assistance in paying for medications.  The health district offers HIV/AIDS Services to individuals in Bosque, Falls, Freestone, Hill, Limestone and McLennan Counties.

Case Management clients may be asked to pay a co-pay if they receive assistance for medical care and health insurance.  The co-pay will based on client income.

Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA):

The HOPWA program provides housing assistance for people living with HIV/AIDS.  In order to qualify for this program, you must have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, live in Bosque, Fall, Freestone, Hill, Limestone or McLennan County and meet certain income standards. The HIV Case Management program will determine if you meet the income eligibility standards for the program.  HOPWA services are available to all persons who qualify for the assistance, regardless of their race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, familial status, or handicap.  For more information please call: (254)750-5499.

STI Clinic

The Sexual Transmitted Infection (STI) Clinic provides diagnosis, treatment, and counseling for sexually transmitted infection clients in order to minimize the spread of disease in the community.

STI Testing

The STI Clinic at the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District tests for Syphilis, HIV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Trichomoniasis.

Gonorrhea & Chlamydia Testing

Attention all men: The STI Clinic at the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District is happy to announce that we are now offering PAINLESS gonorrhea and chlamydia tests. These tests are accurate, affordable, and convenient and you only have to give a urine sample! The results typically come back within three business days.

Clinic Fees:

  • Fees for service will vary based on needed tests or exams and typically range from $45.00 - $120.00.
  • Payment is due at time of service.
  • Please bring copy of your most recent Medicaid card and a valid ID.

  • Cost: $15.00 for non-Medicaid or free for Medicaid clients; need to bring valid ID
