Animal Services

The Pet Circle Animal Center is regional, serving numerous Central Texas cities and most portions of McLennan County as an open-admission shelter.

Cameron Park Zoo

Waco's 52-acre Natural Habitat Cameron Park Zoo along the Brazos River.

City Attorney’s Office

Provides quality legal services, advice, and representation to the City Council, City Manager, and the other City departments.

City Manager's Office

Provides overall management throughout the City organization and staff.

City Secretary's Office

The City of Waco’s Code Compliance Division is dedicated to ensuring that residents and businesses enjoy a safe, healthy, and attractive environment. As part of the Development Services Department, it enforces various codes and ordinances to maintain the community's well-being.

Court

The municipal court has jurisdiction over violations of city ordinances and, within the city limits, over Class C misdemeanor criminal cases where the punishment upon conviction is by small fine only.

Development Services

The Development Services department assists policy makers, property owners, developers, and residents in regard to zoning and development, in addition to providing information to the public regarding census and demographic information and development trends. The department also provides support to Waco City Council, Plan Commission, and Board of Adjustment.

Providing planning, design and construction administration services for street, drainage water and sewer projects.

Environmental Compliance

Protecting public health and the environment by regulating nonresidential discharges to the City’s sanitary sewer system.

A true customer service organization, the Waco Fire Department responds to thousands of calls for service per year.

Fiscal Management Services

Fiscal Management Services manages the City of Waco's finances to ensure the city remains good stewards of public funds. The department oversees the annual budget, payroll, treasury, accounts payable, grants and purchasing.

Neighborhood Engagement

Neighborhood associations are voluntary independent organizations that are organized by residents to improve the quality of life within each neighborhood. The Neighborhood Engagement Department provides resources to neighborhood associations and acts as a liaison between residents and the City of Waco.

Texas Ranger Hall of Fame

In 1968 a small museum dedicated to the Texas Rangers opened on the banks of the Brazos River through the efforts of the State of Texas/Texas Department of Public Safety, City of Waco and Waco Chamber of Commerce. Today, it has grown into an historical center operated as a department of the City of Waco and has welcomed more than 4.5 million visitors from around the world.

Transit System

Services include a fixed route bus service within the City of Waco, the Baylor University Shuttle (BUS) and a Demand Response Van for individuals with special transportation needs.
