Parks & Recreation

We offer year-round recreational activities, community events, and outdoor experiences for Waco residents and surrounding communities. We strive to create an enriching environment for visitors of all ages and abilities by providing quality programs, services, and facilities, along with well-maintained parks, trails, and natural areas.

The Waco park system is constantly improving and growing to meet the needs of our residents. From the revitalization of Lions Park to the design of new parks like the China Spring Park project. Current Park Projects 

Due to ongoing construction for the City of Waco’s Highway 84 Wastewater Project, trail usage along a portion of the Cotton Belt Trail will be impacted until approximately January 2025. 

The section of affected trail stretches from the trailhead entrance at Trail Blazer Park to Church Road. Trail users still have access to the portion of trail that extends from the parking lot at Church Road/Cotton Belt Trail to the trailhead entrance at the Waco Regional Land Fill on Hannah Hill Road.

Please also note that approximately half of the Church Road parking lot is being utilized for equipment staging during the project. We appreciate your patience while improvements are made.
