Junior Police Academy
Applications will open April 13th for the 2026 Junior Police Academy.
Deadline to turn in a completed application is Friday, May 22nd at 5:00 p.m.
The academy will begin on Monday, June 15th through Thursday, June 25th, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. concluding with a graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 25th at 6:30 p.m.
Students that are accepted into the academy must attend an orientation meeting on June 11th at 6:30 p.m. at the Waco Police Department located at 3115 Pine Avenue. Both student and parent/guardian must attend this orientation to be eligible for the academy.

Who is Eligible?
- Applicants who will be attending high school grades 9th to 12th.
- Must not have any criminal offenses higher than a Class C misdemeanor.
- Applicants with any misdemeanor higher than a Class C, felony offense and/or on probation or parole are not eligible.
All applicants will be subject to a criminal background check prior to acceptance.
