Ironman 70.3 Waco Traffic Impact

The annual Ironman 70.3 Waco event is set to return on Sunday, Oct. 5th. The event, which will attract approximately 7,500 athletes and spectators and will be headquartered at Indian Spring Park. This is the seventh time the Waco has hosted the Ironman event. Set-up, equipment deliveries and pre-race road closures in front of the park will begin Monday, Sept. 29.

TxDOT to Remove Bridges Over 17th & 18th Streets

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) plans to remove the northbound I-35 bridges over 17th and 18th Streets to prepare for the reconstruction and widening of I-35 as part of the My35 Waco South Construction Project. Varying road closures are expected at 17th and 18th Streets from Tuesday, September 16 to Wednesday, September 24.

Speegleville Road Project Public Meeting

The City of Waco is proposing to widen Speegleville Road and reconstruct the existing bridge south of Maple Shade Road and north of Oak Road in McLennan County. The public is invited to a public meeting to learn more and provide comment on the proposed project. The pre-recorded meeting is also available if you're unable to attend.

You're invited to a mural unveiling hosted by the City of Waco on Saturday, September 27 at the South Waco Community Center, 2815 Speight Ave. Commissioned by the Cesar Chavez Neighborhood Association and created by renowned artist Jesus Rivera, the mural honors the neighborhood's Hispanic heritage and celebrates more than 30 influential Mexican and Chicano leaders who have shaped Texas history.
