On Premise Signs

These lists identify the minimum plan submittal requirements for on premise sign permits.

They are not exhaustive; additional documents or details may be required depending on the proposed work. When submitting the application in the portal, be sure to upload a plan set as one combined, legible PDF file. Incomplete or illegible submittals may be rejected.

If the scope of work changes after the plan review is completed, updated plans may need to be resubmitted for a new review.

Illuminated

Sign plan (combined PDF) including:

  1. Elevation plan showing:
    • Sign type (wall sign, projecting, monument, etc.)
    • Overall sign dimensions and sign area (sq ft)
    • Height above grade (freestanding) or mounting height (wall/projecting)
    • Method of attachment/mounting details
  2. Site plan (scaled) showing:
    • Property lines and building footprint
    • Sign location(s) and setback distances (as applicable)
    • Street frontage (as applicable)
  3. Illumination details
    • Internal/external illumination type (LED, cabinet, halo, etc.)
    • Electrical note indicating power source/circuit/disconnect location (if applicable)

Non Illuminated

Sign plan (combined PDF) including:

  1. Elevation plan showing:
    • Sign type (wall sign, projecting, monument, etc.)
    • Overall sign dimensions and sign area (sq ft)
    • Height above grade (freestanding) or mounting height (wall/projecting)
    • Method of attachment/mounting details
  2. Site plan (scaled) showing:
    • Property lines and building footprint
    • Sign location(s) and setback distances (as applicable)
    • Street frontage (as applicable)

Temporary

Temporary sign plan (combined PDF) including:

  1. Elevation plan showing:
    • Temporary sign type (banner, temporary construction sign, inflatable/balloons, etc.)
    • Dimensions/size (include height above grade if applicable)
  2. Site plan (scaled) showing:
    • Property lines and building footprint
    • Location of each temporary sign on the site
    • Setback distances from property lines/right of way (as applicable)
