Third Party Review or Inspection for Home Backup Power Installations
Third party plan review and inspections may be performed for home backup power installations. This applies to one- or two-family dwellings connected to electrical systems of 600 volts or less for home backup power installations, such as generators, energy storage systems, and solar installations.
- Apply for an Alternative Power Source/SolarAPP+ permit through the Citizen Self Service Portal.
- Fees are generated based on the adopted fee schedule
- Provide a complete set of construction documents, including a roof plan, construction details, equipment information, calculations, and system electrical drawings, along with a sealed letter from an engineer on the structural integrity of the roof. Refer to alternative power source submission checklists for additional information.
- Third Party Review: For review completed by a third party, include the Third Party Review Certification(PDF, 171KB) and any development documents.
- Third Party Inspection: If inspections are conducted by a third party, email the completed Third Party Inspection Certification(PDF, 124KB) and any inspection reports to planreview@wacotx.gov. Inspections to establish or reconnect electrical services will be conducted by the City of Waco. A temporary power letter is required with any temporary final inspection.
