About

The City of Waco operates a Type I Municipal Solid Waste landfill that receives over 290,000 tons of waste per year for disposal.

2025 Holidays

The Landfill will be closed the following days:

Accepted Waste

Municipal Solid Waste (MSW)

MSW includes general household waste, such as:

  • Brush
  • Clothing
  • Furniture
  • Appliances
  • Food
  • Packaging

Construction and Demolition Waste (C&D)

C&D waste includes items used in construction or resulting from demolition or remodeling:

  • steel
  • wood
  • drywall
  • plaster
  • concrete
  • glass

Waco Residents Only

  • Residents may bring up to 2,000 pounds of waste to the landfill four times per year at no additional charge.
  • Residents must bring a Waco Utility Bill (paper or electronic version) showing residential trash service.

Unacceptable Waste

  • Paint
  • Liquid waste
  • NiCd, lithup, lead acid batteries
  • Used motor oil & filters
  • Household hazardous waste
  • Ammunition & explosives
  • Fluorescent light bulbs

Fees

Municipal Solid Waste (McLennan County residents) is $52.00/ton

Municipal Solid Waste (others) is $75.00/ton

Construction and Demolition Waste without concrete or bricks is $75.00/ton

Construction and Demolition Waste with concrete or bricks is $125.00/ton

$10 minimum fee will be charged to all users.
