Cobbs Recycling Center

  • Used motor oil, antifreeze and oil filters up to 5 gallons per month.
  • Latex paint (up to 5 gallons per month). Must be useable with a readable label. Please no rusted cans. Dried paint can be put in the trash.
  • Waco residents may make up to four (4) visits per calendar year at the Cobbs Drive citizens’ collection station. Visits will be tracked.
  • NEW - Deposits of brush and bulky waste may not exceed eight (8) cubic yards per visit. That is about a full-sized pick-up truckload.
  • NEW - Brush and bulky piles larger than a full-sized pick-up truckload (8 cubic yards) must go to another disposal location, such as the City of Waco Landfill.
  • Waco residents must provide proof of residency to dispose of brush and bulky waste.
  • Household recycling drop-off at the Cobbs Drive center is not limited
  • Bulky items include furniture, rugs, and items that do not fit in the garbage cart.
  • Refrigerators and other appliances containing Freon must have a label or tag indicating that the refrigerant has been removed by a certified technician. We can remove the refrigerant for a $15 fee per appliance. Appliances are recycled and not counted as bulky waste.
  • Tires: A maximum of four tires, off the rim, can be recycled per visit. Size Limit: 20”, no commercial or industrial tires. Fees vary with size. $3.50/tire for 15” or smaller; $6.00/tire for 20” or smaller. Fees will be applied to utility bill. All tires must be off the rims for disposal. Most local tire shops will remove the tire from the rim for a fee. Tires are recycled and not counted as bulky waste.
  • E-Waste: Computers, televisions, and other unwanted electronics can be brought by City of Waco residents for recycling at no charge. E-waste is not counted as bulky waste.

  • Bring your Waco Water Bill that is within 30 days of its due date, includes a Waco residential service address with trash service. *Drivers license must match.
  • Residents with e-billing: printed Waco utility bill within 30 days of its due date showing the Waco residential service address and Waco residential trash service charge of $17.70/month.
  • Phone displaying the Waco utility bill within 30 days of its due date showing the Waco residential service address and Waco residential trash service charge of $17.70/month.
  • Four drop-offs are permitted per calendar year for each residential address. Loads may not exceed 8 cy per visit. 8 cy is approximately a large pick-up truck load.
    • State law requires that loose loads must be tarped.
    • Because of liability concerns, we cannot help unload. Please bring helpers with you if needed.
    • Cobbs Center cannot accept construction materials (such as drywall, concrete, bricks or asphalt shingles), household chemicals, or compressed cylinders.


  • #1 plastic drink bottles- #2 hard plastic containers, all colors. LOOK FOR THE RECYCLING SYMBOL!
  • Glass(PDF, 253KB) Bottles: clear, brown, blue and green. (windows, coffee table glass, and dishes are not acceptable)
  • Metal, including steel or "tin" cans, aluminum cans, and aluminum pie plates.
  • Paper, such as magazines, phone books, cardboard, junk mail, printer paper, envelopes with windows and stapled paper. We cannot accept food contaminated cardboard, such as paper plates and take-out pizza boxes
  • Cooking oil (liquid only, please no solid grease)
  • Household batteries and "curly" light bulbs
  • NEW!! #6 Styrofoam(PNG, 236KB) (rinsed, dry, and naked) Please remove any tape, padding, and staples before dropping off)

PLEASE NO: Garbage, aluminum foil, hardback or hardcover books.

Anyone can bring these types of materials to be recycled at no cost!

Non-Accepted Items

  • Industrial or Commercial/Business Waste
  • Only small Propane Cylinders
  • Radioactive Materials
  • Household hazardous waste (chemicals)
  • Leaking equipment
  • Speakers in wooden cabinets
  • “Scrapped out” televisions or electronics
  • Plastic Bags of all kinds (grocery, newspaper, ziplock)

HEB, Walmart, Lowes, Target & Kohls locations will take the following:
