Harrison Community Center

The Harrison Community Center is a welcoming place for seniors and the surrounding community to gather, stay active, and connect with others. Located at 1718 N. 42nd St., the center offers a variety of programs, activities, classes, clubs and social events designed to encourage connection, learning and healthy living. From fitness and wellness programs to card clubs, hobby groups, dances and other special activities, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and meet new people.

Fitness Classes

Chair Fitness

Stay active, build strength and improve flexibility with Chair Fitness at the Harrison Senior Center, offered through Meals on Wheels.

This low-impact class uses seated and supported exercises to help improve balance, mobility and overall fitness, making it a great option for those looking for a gentle way to stay moving.

Classes are held at 10:30 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Participation is free, and walk-ins are welcome.

Programs & Activities

Bridge Club

Enjoy a friendly game of bridge and connect with fellow card players at the Bridge Club.

Games are held from noon to 5 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Senior Program, presented by Meals on Wheels

Are you 60 years of age or older and active? Are you looking for a way to meet new people and make friends? Join us for socializing, games, physical activity, conversation, lunchtime meals and more.

There is no cost to participate, but registration is required. Register onsite during program hours or call Meals on Wheels at (254) 752-0316 or (254) 715-7689.

Waco Coin Club

Discover the history and hobby of collecting coins and currency with the Waco Coin Club, established in 1947.

The club welcomes collectors of all ages and meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. Meetings feature a short business meeting followed by a program or show-and-tell, plus an auction, raffle and door prizes.

The club also hosts two coin shows each year and supports local students through scholarships and the MCC Foundation. Visitors are always welcome! For more information, please email President Tom Campbell at trcam_51@hotmail.com.

Waco Herb Society

Grow your knowledge and love of herbs with the Waco Herb Society, a welcoming group open to all adults.

The club meets at 9:30 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month and features speakers and discussions on topics such as the herb of the month, propagation, herbs that thrive in our area, recipes and creative ways to use herbs.

Members also enjoy special events throughout the year, including an annual February Tea Party with a garden hat contest, tea tasting, games and prizes.
