Request for Proclamation
Please review the information below before submitting your request.
The City of Waco accepts proclamation requests to recognize, honor, or commemorate individuals, groups, organizations, and institutions that demonstrate civic involvement, pride, and achievement, and that align with the City’s vision, mission, and goals. Each request is reviewed individually based on the significance of the individual’s or organization’s civic activity, contributions, and accomplishments within the Waco community.
Proclamations may be issued for:
- Local city or civic events
- Fundraisers benefiting the citizens of Waco
- Organizations or individuals with direct and significant civic, philanthropic, or economic contributions to the City of Waco
- Retirements
- Significant birthdays (beginning with the 50th birthday and milestone years thereafter)
- Significant clergy or house of worship anniversaries (e.g., 5, 10, 15 years)
- Major anniversaries or milestone events of Waco-based institutions and companies
Proclamations will not be issued for:
- Requests promoting political campaigns, ideological positions, or activities contrary to City policies or laws
- Commercial or for-profit purposes
- Events that have not been confirmed
- National campaigns or organizations not directly related to the City of Waco
The City of Waco reserves the right to edit all proclamation text to ensure consistency with the City’s vision, mission, and goals.
All requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the date the proclamation will be presented or picked up. Proclamations may be picked up at Waco City Hall, City Secretary’s Office (First Floor), 300 Austin Avenue.
