Heads up, drivers! A portion of Speegleville Road will be temporarily closed to traffic from December 22, 2025, through February 24, 2026. (The schedule is dependent on weather.)
The City of Waco is closing the road to install major flood control and drainage upgrades and to update the area’s water and sewer systems. This is the first phase of a multi-year series of projects designed to improve the Speegleville area between Highway 84 and the Middle Bosque Bridge.
All drivers will need to follow the posted detour routes around the construction zones. See the map for more information.
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve Waco’s roads and infrastructure.
Any environmental documentation or studies, any maps and drawings showing the project location and design, tentative construction schedules, and other information regarding the proposed project are on file and available for inspection by appointment only, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
