Federal Grant Funding Available for Qualified Organizations

City of Waco Housing & Community Development invites qualified organizations to submit applications to receive federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD).

Applications will be accepted from through 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026.

The City of Waco anticipates* receiving funding from two federal grant programs — Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME). Both support several programs and activities that benefit our residents. For the program year 2026 will be available October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026. 

  • CDBG-funded activities must benefit low- and moderate-income residents, eliminate slum or blight, and/or meet an urgent
    community need.
  • HOME funded activities must provide affordable housing to low- and moderate income households.
