Notice of Consideration and Approval of Tax Abatement Agreement

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, in accordance with Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, (known as the Open Meetings Act), as amended, and in accordance with Texas Tax Code, Section 312.207(c) and (d), the City Council of the City of Waco will consider the approval of a tax abatement agreement at its regularly scheduled City Council meeting on February 3, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Waco Convention Center at Bosque Theater, 100 Washington Avenue, City of Waco, Texas, 76701.

The proposed tax abatement agreements concern the following:

  • Action Requested: New Residential Tax Abatement
  • Name of Property Owner: Neighborhood Housing Services of Waco, Inc.
  • Name of Applicant for Original Tax Abatement Agreement: Neighborhood Housing Services of Waco, Inc.
  • Name of Applicant for Tax Abatement Assignment : n/a
  • Name and Location of the Reinvestment Zone In Which the Property Subject to the Agreement is Located: Waco Reinvestment Zone RTA I , City of Waco, created by Ordinance No. 2019-220 on April 2, 2019, on residential property located at 1710 N. 6th Street, Waco, Texas 76707 being further described as Lot 22 in Block 16 of the Addition to the City of Waco, McLennan County, Texas. Property is located within Census Tract 12 Block Group 2.
  • General Description of the Nature of the Improvements or Repairs: Newly constructed home on the property described above with an estimated cost of construction of $250,000.

It is the opinion of the City Attorney’s Office that this notice complies with the requirements of Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code.
