On Tuesday, May 13, Councilmember Alice Rodriguez passed the torch to Isabel Lozano, the new City Council representative for District 2. At her last meeting, City staff, fellow councilmembers, and guests celebrated with a lively mariachi performance and reception — a fitting tribute to her remarkable service.
Waco Mayor Jim Holmes also unveiled Alice Martinez Rodriguez Park in honor of Councilmember Rodriguez’s legacy and dedication to the South Waco community. Once complete in fall 2026, the new park will be located at the former Floyd Casey Stadium site where a new housing development is also underway.

The City of Waco would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Councilmember Alice Rodriguez for her leadership and commitment to District 2 and the Waco community.
