The Waco-McLennan County Library is excited to announce the launch of the annual Mayor’s Summer Reading Challenge. Registration opened on Thursday, May 1 at all library locations and online.
This year’s challenge runs June 1 to July 31 and encourages readers of all ages to log their reading each day, earn prizes, and discover the joy of reading all summer long.
How to Register
- Download the Beanstack App and create an account.
- Track your reading from June 1 to July 31 in the Beanstack app. The more you read, the more you win and collect prizes along the way.
- Attend Waco Library events for your age group all summer long.

Win Prizes
To celebrate the kickoff, all library branches will be giving away free custom tote bags when you register while supplies last. Whether you're a preschooler, teen, or adult, there’s a reading challenge just for you — with age-appropriate goals, special programs, and cool prizes throughout the summer. In addition to prizes, you'll also be entered in a raffle for a chance to win bigger prizes.
Just log your books and activities in the Beanstack app or website to earn virtual badges. Whether you're reading picture books, graphic novels, or listening to your favorite audiobook, it all counts.
