Using your feedback, City of Waco Housing & Community Development has drafted its Annual Action Plan. This plan outlines how we propose to spend $2.04 million in federal grant funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) programs. These funds are crucial for supporting affordable housing, rental assistance, and public services for low-income residents.
The public comment period for the Draft Annual Action Plan was open from June 17 to July 17, 2025. The public comment period is now closed. Using final input from the community, City of Waco Housing & Community Development will submit the proposed plan to Waco City Council on Tuesday, Aug. 5. The final approved plan will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development on Friday, Aug. 15. The following proposed funding distribution is for the budget year starting on Oct. 1, 2025 and ending on Sept. 30, 2026.
The CDBG program can be used for a wide range of community development needs, including affordable housing, anti-poverty programs, public services, or other urgent community needs.
The HOME program focuses on creating affordable housing opportunities for low-income individuals and families.
