Citizen's Fire Academy The Waco Fire Department is excited to host its fifth annual Citizen's Fire Academy! McLennan County residents are invited to join us to learn about being a firefighter through classroom instructions and hands-on demonstrations. Space is limited, so register now to secure your spot.

  • Sessions are on Thursdays from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. September 4 through October 2.
  • Graduation will be held after the final class on October 2.
  • Class space is limited to 25 participants.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and a McLennan County resident to participate.
