Fire Station #4 Construction Project
About the New Fire Station
The new 8,600-square-foot and $5.99 million facility will be constructed by Tegrity Contractors. It will replace the current Fire Station #4 located at 1002 Speight Ave. that has served the community around Baylor University since 1966.
The new station's location on the 1.4-acre site was strategically chosen to optimize coverage, particularly for the S. Third St. corridor across La Salle Ave. from Baylor that has seen significant apartment development. This new facility will directly improve emergency response times to this growing part of our city.
Upon its expected completion in spring 2027, the new Fire Station #4 will feature three apparatus bays, individual sleeping quarters, and accommodations for up to eight fire personnel per shift, providing enough space for current staff and equipment with room for future expansion. The building's exterior will showcase a Spanish-style design to integrate with the aesthetics of the La Salle corridor.
