Waco Regional Airport (ACT), owned and operated by the City of Waco, serves as a vital air transportation hub for Central Texas. Located just five miles northwest of downtown Waco in McLennan County, it offers travelers a convenient alternative to larger regional airports and provides essential connectivity for business, tourism, and general aviation.
Spanning over 1,300 acres, the airport features two asphalt runways capable of accommodating a range of aircraft. It supports a mix of airline, air taxi, military, and general aviation operations, with the majority of daily flights handled by its airline partner, American Eagle (via American Airlines) connecting to Dallas–Fort Worth.
Beyond commercial service, Waco Regional is a hub for flight training, private aviation, and aircraft services. Key partners include Texas Aero, the airport’s primary full-service fixed-base operator (FBO), and multiple flight schools. The facility also plays a role in supporting Baylor University’s aviation sciences program with the Baylor University Flight Center on-site.
Over recent years, the airport has undertaken infrastructure improvements to modernize its terminal, parking, aprons, and airfield facilities — ensuring it remains safe, efficient, and capable of growth to meet community needs.
