Waco is located 90 miles north of the Texas State Capital, Austin and 90 miles south of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.  Waco regional Airport is critical to air travel for this region of Central Texas.  The closest and more competitive airports offering airline service is Killeen, 60 miles to the south and Dallas-Fort Worth 90 miles to the north and Austin 90 miles to the south. 

Waco is also known for its educational, economical, and cultural development.  Waco is home to Baylor University one of the state’s premier learning institutions.  In addition both McLennan Community College and Texas State Technical College, provide three higher education institutions create an unparalleled educational opportunity. 

Waco Regional Airport has taken great strides in improving the facility; through the terminal expansion of the hold room to open up three gates, installing two passenger boarding bridges, and continuing to improve the runway facilities and runway safety area with the current projects funded through both Airport Improvement Projects and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
