The Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) was honored with the 2025 Outstanding Overall Achievement Award for a non-TMA MPO at the 2025 Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO) Conference in Providence, Rhode Island. This national award recognizes the MPO's exceptional work on Convey 2050: The Waco Metropolitan Transportation Plan.

Convey 2050 is the long-range transportation plan for the Waco metropolitan area, developed by the Waco MPO. The plan is updated every five years, and it is designed to guide transportation decisions and projects for the next 25 years, anticipating the region's future needs as its population and economy grow. Waco MPO was selected because its plan went beyond meeting federal requirements, emphasizing human-scale thinking, transparency, and meaningful regional collaboration.
