Waco Library Achievement of Excellence Award

Waco-McLennan County Library has received the 2024 Achievement of Library Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association (TMLDA,) an affiliate of the Texas Municipal League.

Out of the 542 public libraries in Texas, only 102 received this recognition in 2024, placing Waco-McLennan County Library among the state’s leading libraries. The Library earned this prestigious award by demonstrating excellence in a variety of key areas, including:

  • Serving underserved and special populations
  • Innovative marketing strategies
  • Collaborative partnerships
  • Enhanced services through unique and expanded programming
  • Literacy support
  • Digital inclusion initiatives
  • Workforce development support
  • Promotion of cultural, topical, and educational programming
  • Comprehensive staff training
  • Offering other unique services to the community
