Cameron Park Zoo

The City of Waco’s Code Compliance Division is dedicated to ensuring that residents and businesses enjoy a safe, healthy, and attractive environment. As part of the Development Services Department, it enforces various codes and ordinances to maintain the community's well-being.

Court

The municipal court has jurisdiction over violations of city ordinances and, within the city limits, over Class C misdemeanor criminal cases where the punishment upon conviction is by small fine only.

Development Services

The Development Services department assists policy makers, property owners, developers, and residents in regard to zoning and development, in addition to providing information to the public regarding census and demographic information and development trends. A true customer service organization, the Waco Fire Department responds to thousands of calls for service per year.

Texas Ranger Hall of Fame

In 1968 a small museum dedicated to the Texas Rangers opened on the banks of the Brazos River through the efforts of the State of Texas/Texas Department of Public Safety, City of Waco and Waco Chamber of Commerce. Today, it has grown into an historical center operated as a department of the City of Waco and has welcomed more than 4.5 million visitors from around the world.

Transit System

Services include a fixed route bus service within the City of Waco, the Baylor University Shuttle (BUS) and a Demand Response Van for individuals with special transportation needs.
