Mission Waco Urban Reap
Mission Waco’s Urban Renewable Energy & Agricultural Project, or Urban REAP, exists to address environmental issues that impact our community through education, food production, composting, and community building.
Located at 1509 N 15th Street, Urban REAP offers a variety of opportunities to create a greener cleaner community, including a garden center that sells organic veggies, fruit, and herbs, as well as native plants, quality soil, and compost.
Urban REAP also collects food waste from the community to turn it into compost. Residents can bring by their compostables during open hours for free or subscribe to the Compost Club for 24/7 drop-off access. Urban REAP also offers grade school programming and free community workshops on gardening, composting, and more. Finally, Urban REAP grows produce in an aquaponics system that are sold at Jubilee Food Market, the Farmer’s Market, and to restaurants.
As a SCRAP Collective partner, Urban REAP encourages the community to participate in its initiatives to create a cleaner, healthier, and more empowered community for everyone.
