Curbside Christmas tree pick-up during your green week (January)

  • Trees must be free of lights and ornaments
  • Drivers will not pick up artificial trees
  • Waco Residents can also drop their live trees off at Cobbs Recycling Center during the month of January (bring water bill and matching ID)

Glass4Good Recycle - Glass Recycling Program! 

  • We are making it easier than ever to recycle glass beginning January 19th! 
  • These purple roll-offs will be strategically placed throughout each district to allow more opportunities for citizens, businesses, tourists and the surrounding communities to recycle glass with ease.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place from 5-7p.m. at Stay Classy Waco to officially launch our Glass4Good program! We encourage all to attend as this event is open to the public.

Holidays

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Monday, January 16th, Solid Waste Offices and Cobbs Recycling Center will be closed. The Landfill will be closed to the public but will accept franchise haulers until 4:30 p.m.

Monday’s trash will be collected on Wednesday, January 18th

Spring Holiday

Friday, April 7th, Solid Waste Offices and Cobbs Recycling Center will be closed. The Landfill will be closed to the public but open will accept franchise haulers until 4:30 p.m.

Friday's waste will be collected on Wednesday, April 5th

Saturday, April 8th, Cobbs Recycling Center will be closed.

About Us

  • We provide waste management services for residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional garbage collection and disposal.
  • A city-owned and operated 237-acre landfill is managed for the end disposal of wastes originating in Waco and the surrounding region.
  • We are a self-supporting entity not funded by city tax dollars, funds come from solid waste service fees paid by customers.

District Cleanups

District clean-ups provide the opportunity for residential customers to place unwanted items at their curbs on their district’s date beginning at 7 a.m.

  • Mattresses/box springs
  • Toys/swing sets/ misc. junk
  • Un-repairable items (bicycles, BBQ grills, etc)
  • Bagged grass, leaves, plant trimmings
  • Brush Piles

Unacceptable Materials

  • Aerosol cans
  • Antifreeze
  • Construction project debris
  • Food waste
  • Gasoline
  • Hazardous/medical waste
  • Liquids
  • Oil
  • Paint/paint-related materials
  • Pesticides
  • Pool chemicals
  • Dirt, rock, concrete
  • Pressurized tanks (i.e. propane/oxygen/helium)
  • Tires
  • Transmission fluid

Guidelines

  • Place your items at the curb no later than AM.
  • Do not park vehicles in front of piles.
  • Place piles 5 feet from obstructions.
  • Separate the bulky pile from the brush pile.
