Celebrate the celestial event of the year with a jam-packed weekend of themed festivals and experiences that will keep you entertained until the main event on Monday, April 8thEnjoy three days of family-friendly concerts, a STEAM expo, a drone show, a lantern parade, and a 5K fun run!

Monday: Eclipse Over Texas 2024: Live from Waco

With four minutes and 13 seconds of totality, Waco is one of the best places to view the 2024 solar eclipse. Join us at Eclipse Over Texas 2024: Live from Waco to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime phenomena with a full day of activities on the grounds of McLane Stadium. The City of Waco has teamed up with Lowell Observatory, Baylor University, Discovery, and community partners for this cosmic experience!

Free parking lots, and on-street parking are available throughout Downtown Waco within walking distance of all the great activities throughout the downtown area.

Please Note: Overnight parking and camping is not permitted in these public parking areas.

Monday, April 8th - Franklin Garage is employee parking only, badge is required.

As Waco gears up for the eclipse, I-35 is anticipated to experience significant congestion. Plan ahead and check out the interactive map to navigate alternative routes through Waco, including Hwy 6, Loop 340, Hwy 84 (Waco Drive), and Lake Shore Drive.

Waco Transit Service Announcement

For the safety and enjoyment of all passengers and employees, please be advised that Waco Transit System will temporarily suspend all services five minutes prior to the peak of the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8. The pause will commence at 1:35 p.m. and extend through the duration of the eclipse totality. Regular service will resume promptly at 1:47 p.m.

Safety Cameras Around Town

As part of our commitment to ensuring public safety and security, cameras around town have been strategically placed to monitor public areas for traffic and event awareness. These cameras are live-view only and do not record.

They will be monitored and serve as a valuable tool to allow for a real-time view of any traffic impacts and allow us to make any necessary adjustments minimizing impact to the community.

Cameras are temporary and will be removed after the event.
