Campustown Waco

This initiative connects students to the Waco community through internships, volunteer opportunities. The initiative tracks the number of local college graduates who accept employment in McLennan County. The objective of the initiative is to retain local talent produced by the three local education institutions, which will lead to economic development in McLennan County.

Start Up Waco -&- Hustle

Start Up Waco

This initiative will make starting a business in Waco easy by providing businesses of all types resources like access to capital, working space and mentorships. Whether a tech start-up or a local ice cream parlor looking to open a second location, this will be a one-stop shop for local entrepreneurs.

Start Up Waco is a Texas nonprofit organization formed via collaboration of cross-sector partnerships that aspire to lead Waco’s entrepreneurial support efforts and elevate Waco as a hub for business innovation. We are dedicated to engaging the Waco community to Hustleembrace a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship and new thinking by empowering entrepreneurs and innovators to build and grow successful businesses.

Located in the heart of Downtown Waco, our co-working accelerator space, Hustle, provides amenities, programming and resources to foster startup growth. By connecting the dots between valuable resources and budding innovators and entrepreneurs, Start Up Waco aims to transform our city into a place where all who strive can succeed.

Creative Waco

An arts alliance that, because of strategic collaboration for the arts, allows Waco to obtain additional federal and state funding for arts initiatives and increases quality and quantity of art in the community. When a city has a creative identity, it attracts visitors who buy art, listen to live music and experience the vibrancy of a thriving cultural identity.

Creative Waco hopes to to build on what Waco already has and foster a city where:

  • artists of all kinds can thrive.
  • talented young creative graduates can start their careers and businesses.
  • arts organizations and arts professionals strengthen their skills, bringing incredible experiences and opportunities here.
  • our thriving cultural and creative community is a source of pride for residents and a draw for visitors. It's about growing our economy, retaining talent and supporting good ideas.

To implement this, we've studied communities across Texas, America and Europe.

Greater Waco Sports Commission

Greater Waco Sports Commission

Recruits sporting events to take place in Waco – from junior high girls volleyball to an Iron Man, thereby improving the economy and quality of life.

The Greater Waco Sports Commission in an independent non-profit organization that has been created to identify and attract new sports events while enhancing and retaining existing events to generate positive economic impact and enhance quality of life in McLennan County. The vision is that the Greater Waco area will realize its incredible potential – due to its community spirit, location, climate, rivers and lake, beautiful parks, and premiere facilities – as the preferred venue for sports in Texas.

Downtown and “Ring Neighborhoods” Development (and why it matters). City Center Waco is a non-profit organization that is responsible for the strategic, smart and driving development in the 'city center' of Waco, comprised of downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods.

City Center aims to expound on its role to offer contact information to businesses and individuals who want to join efforts to create and support a city center that all of Waco can be proud of.

An initiative to build an environment in which all members of our Waco community are able to measurably improve their education, health, and financial security. Prosper Waco has utilized research and date to set a series of community goals for Financial Security, Education and Healthcare.
