DAR Genealogy/Lineage Workshop

Date: 8/4/2018

Time & Place:
West Waco Library and Genealogy Center, 5301 Bosque Blvd, Waco 1-4pm

Contact DAR Lineage Workshop Chair: Angela Granger (254) 420-4121 Topics to be covered in the workshop: DAR membership qualifications, what it takes to establish lineage, research strategies, how to fill in and submit an application for membership. We want to assist women 18 years of age or older who are interested in joining the DAR. The Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, nonpolitical women’s volunteer service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism. The workshop is open and free to any woman interested in joining the DAR. Attendees will hear a short presentation and then have the opportunity to work with experienced genealogists. Door prizes every 30 minutes after we have begun our presentation. Must be present to win. If you are interested and able to attend, please bring any documentation you have collected so far: birth, marriage and death certificates for you, your parents, and grandparents, and any other family documentation to show your lineage. If you haven't started to collect any family documentation yet, please come and learn about the steps needed to document your lineage (your direct bloodline descent from your ancestors). Members of the chapter will be present to help answer any questions you may have, assist you with some of your research, and help with the application process. Reservations are not required but would be helpful for planning purposes. For additional information, contact Peggy Duty, Registrar, at (254) 754-5119. You may also find us on the web at . If you are unable to attend but are interested in our organization and becoming a member, please contact our Membership Chair, Carolyn Haynes, at (254) 836-0537 or go to
