Sensory Matinee, especially for special needs children

Date: 1/7/2017

Time & Place:
2 p.m. at South Waco Library (2727 S. 18th St.)

The Waco-McLennan County Library will begin hosting a new Sensory Matinee program especially for kids with special needs. The library will be hosting movie matinees that are structured to be a comfortable and inviting experience for all. The lights won’t be turned too low, and the volume will be set to avoid extremes throughout the show. Everyone is encouraged to bring pillows and blankets and get comfortable and there won’t be any pressure to be perfectly still and quiet since it’s tougher for some of our visitors to do that! The first show will be January 7 at 2 p.m. at the South Waco Library (2727 S. 18th St.). We will be watching Mary Poppins, so everyone can start their year with the nanny who’s practically perfect in every way. I am inviting you to this event and to please share the information with any of your visitors who might benefit from such a program—it is going to be a really fun time! If you have any questions about this program, contact Barbara Frank at the South Waco Library at 254 750 8411 or
