Advanced Meteorology

Date: 2/16/2016

Time & Place:
This course will meet on MCC campus Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 pm beginning February 16th and ending March 1st.

The weather forecast you see on your television or smartphone is only a small part of meteorology. There is a lot of math and science that goes into it. This class teaches the different types of computer models and how they work, how global weather patterns like El Nino come into play, and what is being done to advance the field of meteorology. With Conley Isom, KXXV TV First Alert 25 meteorologist, you will also explore the social science of weather – understanding why one person seeks shelter from a storm while another does not. We will also talk in depth on climate change, using data and discussing the impact on business. Registration fee is $31. For more information call 254-299-8888 or visit
