Toddler Time

A special storytime designed for ages 1-2. Come join the fun with rhymes, stories, music, movement games and more! Toddler Time is a great way to increase language development and other pre-literacy skills for your busy toddler.

Baby Signs

Baby sign language is a great way to communicate with your baby without talking. Babies can usually learn to sign before they learn to talk, so it's never too early to start! Your baby can learn to ask for food, tell you when he's scared and even ask for books (that's our favorite!) This jump start on communication can help your baby start talking sooner and have more words to share.

Join the sisterhood of tech-savvy women! This club is a great chance to explore computer science in a safe, supportive environment. Meet your peers and discover role models in the computer science and technology field. We are part of this national initiative to increase the number of women in tech fields in the future.

This month we'll be learning all about MakeyMakey, an electronic invention tool and toy that connects real-world objects to computers! Test conductive materials, make game controllers and more! All the lessons will build on each other, so register for the first lesson and attend the rest to learn the most. It's never too early to think about the future! Today's kids are tomorrow's coders, so join us at the library to learn the basics of coding.

It's that time of year again! Time for Library on the Go. Storytime is even more fun when we take our show on the road. Our final Library on the Go stop is the Animal Shelter. We will meet a real-life veterinarian who will talk to us all about taking care of our furry pet friends. We will also hear some awesome pet stories and you can take a tour of the shelter to see cats and dogs who are in need of a home. You might meet your new best friend!

Bring the whole family for giant fun. Walk right into a giant Candyland board and find your way through the Lollipop Woods and Peppermint Forest. Work on colors, counting and more while you have a family fun day!

Portraits in Watercolor

The March meeting of the Central Texas Watercolor Society will feature a workshop by Ft. Worth artist, Court Bailey. A member of the Society of Watercolor Artists and a professional portrait painter, his demonstration will be the painting of the portrait of a young boy. Bring your usual painting supplies and plan to get your brushes wet!

Map It! Using Maps for Family History Research (Workshop)

Spring is here, and that means it’s time for a spring genealogy workshop. Learn all about how different kinds of maps can help you answer questions and find clues about your ancestors. We’ll have guests to present high-tech and low-tech methods to get the most information out of our maps. This full day workshop begins at 9, so show up bright and early to sign in and get the most learning done. Learn from experts from the Texas General Land Office, HistoryGeo.com and the Genealogy Center how to use maps to answer your genealogical questions.
