Curbside Recycling (Blue Carts) and Yard Waste Diversion (Green Carts)

In Waco, residents with curbside trash service are provided, at their request, one or two 95 gallon blue (recycling) and one or two green (yard waste) carts at NO EXTRA CHARGE. Complete the CART REQUEST FORM to request delivery of a grey, blue or green cart. To pick up blue or green carts, visit the Solid Waste Services main office, 501 Schroeder Drive from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. When picking up a cart, please bring a driver’s license and a vehicle large enough to accommodate the container, which is 46” high, 27.5 “ deep, and 31” wide.  (A pickup truck is usually fine.)


Acceptable Items for Curbside Recycling in Waco:


  • Mixed paper (newspaper, magazines, junk mail, phone books, etc.)

  • Clean Cardboard (No Pizza boxes that contain grease)

  • Aluminum, steel cans, tin

  • #1 & #2 Plastics Only (No PLASTIC BAGS)

Please do not bag your recyclables in your cart for easy processing. 


  • Bush clippings

  • Leaves & grass

  • Small branches

Donate to a local charity!

Goodwill, Salvation Army, Caritas, Habitat for Humanity's ReStore, Mission Waco, Family Abuse Center and several others can all take your gently used items and turn them into support for their worthy programs. Check your phone book under 'Charitable Organizations' or 'Thrift Shops'.
