-- CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: Both Wilbert Austin, Sr. Park (formerly East Waco) and Kendrick parks are currently undergoing improvement projects. East Waco Park is located at 401 Hood Street and the $300,000 project is expected to last throughout the summer. Improvements, which are being funded with Community Development Block Grant, will include sport court resurfacing, lighting improvements, irrigation, and curb and gutter installation. Access to the park and surrounding streets will be limited during the project. Kendrick Park is a $500k improvement project that includes a new playground and splashpad, and additional 1/5 mile of paved walking trail. The first phase of work, anticipated to take 3-4 months, involves closure of the existing playground, pavilion, and a portion of the existing walking loop.
