Waco’s parks, trails and natural areas remain open for public use, but please follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidelines on social distancing and how to stop the spread of germs while enjoying these outdoor spaces. In the interest of public safety, the City of Waco is being proactive in trying to limit the community spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Beginning on Tuesday, March 24 until further notice the following measures are in effect for Waco Parks and Recreation:

Parks and Recreation Administration Office (201 W. Waco Dr.):
Temporarily closed to the public until further notice.

Parks and Recreation Athletics Office (3200 Clay Dr.):
Temporarily closed to the public until further notice.

Community Centers:
All City of Waco Community Centers temporarily closed to the public until further notice, including Bledsoe-Miller, Dewey and South Waco. The Multi-Purpose Center is also closed to the public. Additionally, childcare and after-school programs temporarily suspended until further notice.

Senior Centers:
All City of Waco Senior Centers temporarily closed to the public until further notice, including Harrison and Sul Ross. This includes all senior programming at the centers.

Sports and Leagues:
All youth and adult sports leagues temporarily suspended until further notice.

Rental Facilities:
Rental of all facilities temporarily suspended until further notice. This includes park pavilions, athletic fields, Cameron Park Clubhouse and the Multi-Purpose Center.

Riverbend Ballpark / Hart-Patterson Track and Field Complex:
All scheduled tournaments and practices temporarily suspended until further notice.

Waco Mammoth National Monument:
Following guidance from the CDC and recommendations from state and local public health and in coordination with the City of Waco, Waco Mammoth National Monument is temporarily closed as of Wednesday, March 18. Updates will be posted to the park website and social media channels. For more information visit www.nps.gov.

Permitted Events:
At this time, permitted events or gatherings of more than 10 people are prohibited.

Rosemound Cemetery: Temporarily closed. For questions or information, please contact Oakwood Cemetery at (254) 754-1631.

Cottonwood Creek Golf Course:
Open to the public as of March 26. All scheduled tournaments temporarily suspended until futher notice.

As we go forward, the City continues to be a part of the weekly meetings with the McLennan County Leadership Committee formed by the Public Health District that brings together leadership of Baylor/Scott & White, Ascension Providence, Family Health Center, Premier ER and other medical professionals to collaborate and maximize the community’s response, diagnosis, and treatment of any suspected cases of COVID-19.

Brazos Nights 2020 Concert Series: The Brazos Nights concerts for April 3 and May 1 have been postponed in accordance with local and statewide restrictions regarding community gatherings, along with the recommendation for social distancing from the CDC. Stay tuned for concert updates. The 2020 shows are scheduled to take place: April 3 (postponed), May 1 (postponed), June 12 and July 4.

Our Athletics Department Has Moved! The City of Waco's Athletics Division has moved to the Hart-Patterson Track and Field Complex, located at 3200 Clay Ave., Waco, Texas, 76711. For questions, call (254) 750-5875.
