Do I need a background check?

Volunteers under 18 do not need a background check.

How old must I be to volunteer?

Teen volunteers must be age 12-17.

Does the Library accept court-appointed community service hours?

No. Court-appointed community service hours cannot be earned at the Library.

How will I find out if I’m getting an interview?

You'll get an email to schedule your interview. Be sure to check your spam folder if you don't see an email.

What happens if I cannot attend my shift?

Be sure to call your supervisor if you cannot attend your shift. Three missed shifts will be cause to terminate your volunteer assignment.

Is there a minimum time commitment?

You should be able to commit 2-7 hours per week for at least two months.

Can I drop in to volunteer?

No. You may only volunteer at your scheduled times. 

Is there training required?

There will be a mandatory training/orientation for all volunteers.

What will I do as a volunteer?

I volunteered last year. Do I need to fill out an application this year?

Yes. Please fill out a new application each year to ensure accuracy.
