Interlibrary Loan

or "what if you don't have the book I want?"

I looked in your catalog and I can't find what I need. What can I do?

Interlibrary loan lets us borrow items from other libraries. You can request ILLs through your library account. Click here to find out how.

Is there anything that isn't available through Interlibrary Loan?

Unfortunately, not everything is available through Interlibrary Loan. We are unable to request items (e.g. books, DVDs, audiobooks, etc.) that have been published or released within the last year.

How long can I keep the items?

Check out times are the same as local items. To request a renewal, let us know 3 to 5 days before the due date, so we can contact the lending library to see if the item can be renewed. DVDs may not be renewed.

How many items can I borrow this way?

Cardholders are limited to 10 active Interlibrary Loan requests. This includes the total number checked out and requested.

How will I know if my items are here?

You will get an email or text (whichever you requested) when your items arrive. Please pick them up as soon as possible. After 7 days, they will be returned to the lending library.

If you do not pick up your items within the 7 days, your ILL privileges will be suspended for 30 days and any pending ILL requests will not be filled.

How long will it take to get my items here?

Requests can take 2 to 6 weeks to fulfill.

Is there a fee for this awesome service?

There is a $1 shipping fee for each item that is received. If your request cannot be filled, you will not be charged.

What if I decide I don't want/need the item after I request it?

Once the request status changes to active, your account will be charged the $1 fee. If you need to cancel your request before the status changes, call (254) 750-5955.

If you need assistance call our ILL office at (254) 750-5955.
