The Vital Statistics Division of the Waco-McLennan County Public Health District is accepting appointments for birth and death certificates.
Appointments will be scheduled on a first-come first-serve basis. The Health District is constantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and will release more information when services return to normal.

Effective September 1, 2015, Senate Bill 200, article 5 amended Section 191.0031 of the Texas Health and Safety Code to state that a local registrar may not issue a certified copy of a record to a person who has applied for the record by mail, fax, or email unless the person has provided a notarized proof of identity.
NOTE: A NOTARIZED PROOF OF IDENTITY IS INCLUDED ON PAGE 2 OF THE BIRTH AND DEATH APPLICATION.
THE PROOF OF IDENTITY MUST BE COMPLETED TO OBTAIN A BIRTH OR DEATH CERTIFICATE BY MAIL, FAX OR EMAIL.

Expedited services is available for birth and death certificates if needed. Requests are processed within 3-5 working days. The expedited service fee ensures the request will be processed the same day of receipt. The charge for the expedited service is $10.00.
