Travel Training

Waco Transit System provides free travel training programs to help individuals learn how to navigate the transit system effectively. The primary goal of travel training programs is to empower individuals, especially those with disabilities or seniors, to use public transportation independently. It aims to increase their confidence and mobility within the community.

Things to Know

  1. The training curriculum covers various aspects, such as route planning, understanding bus schedules, fares and payment methods, safety guidelines, service qualifications, and etiquette while using public transit.
  2. Depending on the needs of the participants, the training may be individualized or provided in small groups. This ensures that each person receives personalized attention and instruction tailored to their abilities and requirements.
  3. We ensure that our travel training programs are accessible to all individuals, including those with mobility challenges or sensory impairments. This may involve providing specialized training materials, accessible facilities, and accommodating different learning styles.
  4. Continuous feedback and evaluation are essential to improving the effectiveness of travel training programs. We greatly appreciate any feedback from participants to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments to the curriculum or delivery methods.
