CADD Standards
In the ever-evolving landscape of design and construction, precision, consistency, and efficiency are paramount. This is where Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) standards emerge as an essential cornerstone, serving as a unifying language for engineers, architects, and urban planners. CADD standards provide a structured framework that ensures seamless communication, collaboration, and the creation of high-quality designs. These standards encompass a set of guidelines and conventions, encompassing everything from drawing formats to layer naming conventions, to ensure that professionals in these fields can work harmoniously and produce accurate, reliable, and innovative designs. The utilization of CADD standards not only streamlines the design process, but also plays a pivotal role in maintaining safety, adhering to regulations, and minimizing errors, ultimately shaping the physical world in which we live.
These CADD Standards are to be used for engineering drawings on capital projects that impact the City of Waco horizontal infrastructure. Suggestions for revisions to current Standards will be considered by the City Engineering Division. Please contact the Public Works Engineering CADD Manager at micaz@wacotx.gov.
