Junior Police Academy

Applications are currently closed for the 2024 Junior Police Academy.

The academy will begin on Monday, June 10th through Thursday, June 20th, from 8 a.m. to noon concluding with a graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 20th at 6:30 p.m.

Students that are accepted into the academy must attend an orientation meeting on June 6th at 6:30 p.m. at the Waco Police Department located at 3115 Pine Avenue. Both student and parent/guardian must attend this orientation to be eligible for the academy.

Who is Eligible?

  • Applicants who will be attending high school grades 9th to 12th.
  • Must not have any criminal offenses higher than a Class C misdemeanor.
  • Applicants with any misdemeanor higher than a Class C, felony offense and/or on probation or parole are not eligible.

All applicants will be subject to a criminal background check prior to acceptance.
