Buena Vista Park

Buena Vista Park (2001 Madera Dr.) features a wetland-themed playground, paved walking trail, pavilion and picnic tables. The park also includes a community fishing pond, which is stocked through a partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife's Neighborhood Fishin' program.

Fishing at the Park

  • A fishing license is required for all anglers 17 or older
  • Fishing is by pole and line only
  • Limit of 2 poles, per angler
  • No trotlines, juglines, throwlines, bows, spears, seines or cast nets
  • Daily bag limits are per person, not per lake

Blue & Channel Catfish: No minimum length limit. Five fish daily bag combined.

Largemouth Bass: Minimum length limit is 14 inches. Daily bag limit is 5.

Black and White Crappie: Minimum length limit is 10 inches. Daily bag limit is 25. 

Sunfish: No minimum length limit. No daily bag limit. 

Rainbow Trout: No minimum length limit. Five fish daily bag limit.

Park Rules

Park hours are 6 a.m. to midnight

  • Pets must remain leashed, and please clean up after your pets
  • Do not disturb, damage or remove wildlife, trees, plants or property within the park

Prohibited within the park:

  • Parking or driving on the grass
  • Alcohol and drugs
  • Discharge of firearms, including paintball guns or air rifles
  • Overnight parking or camping
  • Sales activity or solicitation of funds
  • Littering or dumping
  • Damage to any property
  • Loud speakers or amplified sound
  • Open fires, except in designated grills or fire pits
  • The disruption or prevention of orderly conduct
