Dewey Community Center

The Dewey Community Center (925 N. 9th St.) provides educational and recreational opportunities for the surrounding community. The center includes a gym, a wellness room, meeting rooms and a computer lab. For information on programs and events, call (254) 750-8677.

Wellness Center

Dewey Community Center offers memberships and day passes to its wellness center, which features a wide variety of weight and cardio machines to help you achieve your fitness goals. Purchase a day pass for just $2 or buy a 30-day membership for $30 (good for 30 visits taken at any time).

Wellness center hours:

Mondays - Thursdays | 9 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Fridays | 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturdays | 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Fitness Classes

Zumba

Looking to amp up your fitness routine in a fun and high-energy group environment? Give Zumba a try for just $5/class, and dance your way to a healthier you! Classes are offered from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Must be at least 16 years of age to participate.

Hit the Floor

Take your workout to the next level with instructor Teresa Cleveland’s step aerobics fitness program. Classes are offered from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $3/class.

Our team of dedicated staff work year-round to provide quality programs and activities for Waco’s youth, adults and senior citizens. In addition to enabling health, recreation and fitness for people of all ages and abilities, the centers serve as anchors of many of our neighborhoods and support a healthy environment and strong communities. Computer Lab

Dewey Community Center's computer lab offers a quiet workspace that is available for public use at no cost. The lab is open during the center's regular operating hours, with some exceptions. Please note the lab is closed when after-school care programs and youth camps are taking place.

Free Public Wi-Fi Access

The City of Waco Information Technology Department recently completed Wi-Fi upgrades at the Dewey Park & Recreation Center. You can now enjoy a free Wi-Fi connection at the Center and surrounding area. This project completion is our first Free Public Wi-Fi initiative for our community.
