Scott Walker
Chief Walker is a fire service leader with over 30 years of experience. He began his career with the Phoenix Fire Department in 1994 where he served as the Executive Assistant Fire Chief before joining the Waco Fire Department. His extensive background encompasses all facets of a modern, all-hazards fire department, including fire operations, fire prevention, emergency management, fire logistics, public information, and fiscal management.
Chief Walker has been a key member of the Department’s all-hazards incident management team, managing major events such as the Super Bowl, College Football Championship, and Final Four. He also led Arizona Task Force 1, one of 28 Federal Emergency Management Agency urban search and rescue teams, with notable deployments to Hurricanes Harvey and Irma in 2017.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety and Emergency Management from Grand Canyon University and an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Fire Science from Phoenix Community College. Additionally, he has completed the Naval Postgraduate Executive Leadership Program.
Chief Walker is dedicated to fostering strong relationships, trust, and effective communication both within the Waco Fire Department and with the community. His primary goal is to deliver exceptional customer service and support to the residents of Waco.
