This training is a comprehensive approach to understanding the dynamics that cause and maintain poverty from the individual to a systems level. Bridges Out of Poverty uses the lens of economic class and provides concrete tools for a community to prevent and reduce poverty.
This training assists employers, community organizations, social service agencies, and individuals to gain insight and workable strategies for immediate utilization.
Getting Ahead In a Just Getting By World is a program that supports people in poverty to create their own plan for stability. What is Trainer Certification?
Trainer certification provides the knowledge and skills to train administrators, managers, front-line staff and employees to improve skills and outcomes when working with people in poverty. By enhancing the staff's skills, rethinking theories of change, redesigning programs, procedures and policies for greater effectiveness, and examining policies and procedures that either facilitate or inhibit efforts to "move clients", the goals of businesses or organizations will be met at a faster pace.
What happens during the training?
The certification is a four day event. In the first day, attendees will receive an overview of Bridges core constructs. The following two days attendees will examine the impact of poverty from a community lens, individual lens, and institutional lens and learn how to apply the strategies and constructs in each environment. Day four is devoted to learning how to facilitate Getting Ahead for individuals who want to plan their own economic and personal future stories.
This training is limited to 65 participants.
