Waco Police Department - Police Chief

Brent Stroman has served in the Waco Police Department for 30 years and was appointed to the Chief position on December 18, 2007. Chief Stroman came to Waco from Austin, Texas, after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Administration from Sul Ross State University in Alpine Texas.

As a police officer, he continued his formal education by earning a Master of Public Administration from Texas State University. Chief Stroman has served and managed most areas of the Waco Police Department including Patrol, Planning, Crime Prevention, Assistant Chief of Patrol for 11 years and most recently 4 years as Assistant Chief of the Criminal Investigations Division

In his career, Chief Stroman is responsible for implementing and enhancing many police/community partnerships, which exist today. He is active in several community organizations and his church. A Texas Longhorn at heart, he is married to a Baylor graduate, and has a daughter attending Texas Tech University and a son attending Texas A&M.
