Waco MPO Public Participation PlanThe PPP describes the efforts the MPO will undertake to solicit stakeholder and other interested party's involvement in the development of the MPO's plans and programs. In addition, the PPP also describes the opportunities the public will have to participate in the transportation planning process. Amendment One – Adopted October 27, 2008 Amendment Two – Adopted March 17, 2009 Amendment Three – Adopted June 30, 2009 "Connections 2030" Waco Metropolitan Transportation PlanProposed Amendments to the 2030 Metropolitan Transportation Plan – Comment Period Ends June 15, 2009The MTP identifies the transportation needs for the Waco area for the next 25 years and identifies specific projects to address those needs. The MTP is fiscally constrained to only include those projects than can be realistically funded by the year 2030. Amendment 1 - Approved April 25, 2005 Amendment 2 - Approved January 29, 2008 Amendment 3 – Approved November 17, 2008 Amendment 4 – Approved March 17, 2009 Amendment 5 – Approved June 30, 2009 The 2006 to 2008 Transportation Improvement ProgramThe TIP programs federally funded highway construction and transit projects for fiscal years 2006 through 2008. The 2006 - 2008 TIP was adopted by the MPO Policy Board on April 25, 2005 and becomes effective on October 1, 2005. The Waco Thoroughfare PlanThe MPO developed the thoroughfare plan to help preserve highway corridors for development up to 50 years into the future. The plan is intended to assist in the identification of projects for future MTPs. Access Management GuidelinesThe MPO created a set of guidelines to assist member governments in preserving highway capacity on new thoroughfares and retrofitting existing highways. The guidelines provide standards for street intersections, driveway access, and median spacing. Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP)The UPWP is in essence the annual budget for the MPO. The UPWP identifies the work tasks the MPO intends to perform over the next fiscal year and allocates the necessary funds to accomplish those tasks.
