3rd Annual City Employee
Appreciation Day A Success

The highlight of the Employee Appreciation Day was watching City
Manager Larry Groth swallow a live worm as part of a United Way
“Fear Factor” challenge.
City employees raised more than $1,700 for the United Way while
enjoying carnival-style games at the 3rd annual Employee Appreciation
Day on Oct. 3.
Here are some of the highlights. Lisa Wilcox and Sherry Martin
tied for first in the “Name that Baby” contest, and both received
gift certificates for a manicure and pedicure at Beauty Brands.
Nita Mays won the Candy in the Jar contest, which held 920 items.
The winning free throw team was Brandon Barsh, Thom Perry and Tom
Blanchard. The winning 3-point team was Ezell Scott, Anthony Betters
and John Fulbright. Betters also won the individual free throw contest
and Barsh won the 3-point shot contest.
