SkyWarn Training
The Waco- McLennan County Emergency Management team and the National Weather Service in Fort Worth are sponsoring Skywarn training, which is a free training focused on how to spot severe weather and what to do in the event of an emergency.
This year skywarn will be Saturday, March 19, 2011, and will be held at the McLennan Community College Emergency Service Education Center by the airport. Pre-registration is not needed and the program will consist of two parts. The basic class will be in the morning and the advanced class will be in the afternoon. Start time will be 8:30 a.m. (Lunch will not be provided.)
The morning session covers basic storm spotting, and the afternoon session is focused on advanced training. The seminar is offered each spring prior to the start of severe weather season. For more information, contact Frank Patterson at (254) 750-5911.
