Higher Education

Waco is home to two colleges and one university:

Baylor University, the world's largest Baptist university
McLennan Community College, a two-year community-focused learning center
Texas State Technical College, the only state-supported technical college system in Texas.

Public Education

The City of Waco and surrounding areas offer excellent choices in public education at the primary and secondary levels. The public school system is anchored by Waco Independent School District with over 15,500 students and approximately 2,300 employees in its 29 schools.

Other Waco Public School Districts

Midway ISD serves West Waco and the suburbs of Woodway and Hewitt.

LaVega ISD serves the Timbercrest Neighborhood Association in Waco and the Bellmead area.
 
Connally ISD serves Waco residents who live near Texas State Technical College in Waco and is located near the City of Lacy Lakeview.
 
China Spring ISD serves residents in North Waco and is in the community of China Spring.
Bosqueville ISD serves residents in North Waco and is in the community of Bosqueville.
